Lisa Manterfield is an author, blogger, speaker, and coach. As the founder of LifeWithoutBaby.com, she has built an international online community to help women come to terms with being childless-not-by-choice.
She is the author of the recently released memoir I’m Taking My Eggs and Going Home: How One Woman Dared to Say No to Motherhood, the story of her struggle with infertility and her ultimate decision to create a fulfilling life without children. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications including Los Angeles Times, Romantic Homes and GRIT, as well as onstage in live performances at Spark Off Rose and Expressing Motherhood.
As a member of the International Coach Federation, Lisa’s presentations and “open floor” conversations with such diverse organizations as The Wellness Community and UCLA Extension Writer’s Program, have helped confront the issues of coming to terms with childlessness in a mom-centric society, and using writing as a tool for healing.
Lisa enjoys giving back to the community in her free time, most notably in her role as Head Mentor of the Young Storyteller’s Foundation, a program that teaches creative writing to fourth and fifth grade children, and provides tools for them to tell their own stories. A British native turned Southern California transplant, Lisa is auntie to eight nieces and nephews, adoptive mother to one spoiled cat, and wife to Mr. Fabulous.
She is currently working on a new book, Women Who Rock the World Instead of the Cradle.
